Recent Happenings

I know I haven't blogged in forever, but I am going to blame it on the fact that I have lost the USB cord for my camera, making it nigh impossible for me to download pictures on to my computer. Pictures are basically what make the blog anyway, so I've been waiting to find it. However, I broke down the other day and went to our local drugstore, Western Drug, and attempted to put all my pictures on a CD through those little kiosk things. Well, I am a doofus and accidentally unselected all the pictures that I was trying to select. I surprise myself sometimes by how awesome I can be. Anyway, here are some things that have been going on here in good ol' Round Valley.

1. Lots of sleeping in. Doing meaningless jobs around the house and playing with Abby. She is a doll of course. We pick a lot of peas out of the garden, play in her pool and go to the public library at least once a week.

I can't rotate it, but it's just too adorable to leave out.

2. I have read the Chronicles of Narnia, Maniac Magee, Stargirl, The Lost Symbol and am currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring and Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. For some reason I can't seem to read The Lord of the Rings straight through. I get bored. So, I'll read a few chapters and then read a whole different book. I guess I'm a book floozy just like I am a song floozy. I can't stick with one for too long.

3. Went on a camping trip with the family. The highlight definitely being, when all three kids squeezed into a sink for a bath.

While camping, we witnessed a natural phenomena. It wasn't the Northern Lights or anything like that, but we Gardners are pretty easily pleased. We just get the biggest kick out of really ridiculous things. We opened the marshmallow cream and what do you think we found? Yes, marshmallow cream, but it was smiling at us. Isn't that just nuts?

4. I am now employed! I am one of the cooks at a convalescent home here in town. Thanks to my good friend Mandy. I've only been here two days, but it's been the most "feel good" job I have ever had. You would think it would be depressing to see all these old people, but they have really adorable personalities. Don't tell, but I already have favorites.

Ummm...that's about it. I will have a few fun blogs following this one as soon as I work out this camera dilemma. Because I know at least Hannah is dying to read all about my boring life:).
